Economics Day
Economy Day is a great way to teach children the 4th grade Economic Standards. Reading about this in a book is forgettable however, doing it is UNFORGETTABLE! Most of the process is done at home, so we wanted to give you time over the holiday break to think of ideas and get started.
Each student is asked to make a product to sell on Economics Day which is Tuesday, December 20th from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Students will use money earned and saved in our classroom for the month of December to “buy” products. This will be a great time for your child to do some holiday shopping themselves. When thinking of products to make and sell be creative! In the past products made have been found in craft books, Pinterest, etc.. These items should be easy to make with little or no cost involved and are fun!
PARENTS DAY OUT/DROP AND SHOP
The Allatoona High School Cheerleading Program is proud to announce our upcoming Parent’s Day Out event scheduled for Sunday, December 11, 2016, at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This fun-filled event for children ages 4 to 12 is sponsored by the AHS Basketball Cheerleaders and is a perfect time for faculty and staff to go Christmas shopping and get ready for the holiday season. For only $35 per child, the children will be entertained with games, crafts, gymnastics and pizza. Registration began on October 1…so don’t miss out on the limited spots!
Registration and payment can be made online TODAY at www.ahsbucs.com/cheerleading.

Fourth Grade Musical
The fourth grade students will be presenting the musical
“Celebrate America” On Thursday, November 3rd at 6:30 pm in the Lewis cafeteria.
The musical will be performed by all fourth grade students and will include singing and dialogue. The students will be working on the songs during music class along with other music standards. Participation in the musical will count towards part of their performance standards grade for music.
The theme of the musical focuses on the strengths of America’s history and a positive message of living in America everyday. Throughout its history, the United States has been a nation of immigrants. The population is diverse with people from all over the world seeking refuge and a better way of life. We are defined by diversity in religion, race and ethnicity. Our country continues to be the leader of the free world and has set the standard for democracy where it is a government of the people, by the people for the people. America is great because we are a nation of dreamers, inventors, artists, builders and doers. We exalt in achievement, rebound from failure and encourage one another every step of the way, from the little league, to the majors, in every walk of life.
The song titles include “The Star Spangled Banner,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “Fifty Nifty United States,” Thankful for the U.S.A.,” “A Grateful Nation,” “Rap of the Presidents,” and “The Heart of America.”
The musical will also be performed on the morning of Friday, November 4th for the school.
I look forward to seeing you as your child shares their musical talent.
“Sing”cerely,
Ken Grebe
